Padma Awards 2015

The 2015 list of Padma Awardees comprises of 9 Padma Vibhushan, 20 Padma Bhushan and 75 Padma Shri Awardees.  Out of these 104 awardees, 17 of the awardees are women.

The awards will be given in March/April 2015 at a ceremonial function in Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Padma Awards
• Padma Awards are one of the highest civilian Awards of the country that are conferred in three categories Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. 
• The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year. The Awards are given in various fields of activities including art, social work, public affairs, science, trade, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc. 
• Padma Vibhushan is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; Padma Bhushan is awarded for distinguished service of high order and Padma Shri is awarded for distinguished service in any field.
